Who is Netram Technologies?
Netram Technologies is a company based in Cape Town, Western Cape, specialising in the distribution of electronic prototyping hardware. Our online and physical store sells products that allow people across all skill levels the ability to quickly and easily build things that can improve people's lives or simply just allow you to make something unique that you can't buy anywhere else. Our customers invent, make, build, experiment and dare to learn about electronics by tearing apart existing products and "tinkering" until they discover something new. We were the first African distributors to bring in many overseas products such as Arduino, Sparkfun Electronics, Seeed Studios, Dagu, Netduino, Itead Studio, Creality, 3D Robotics to name just a few. Our online store was the first of its kind in South Africa, catering for a unique industry with a wide spectrum of clients ranging from beginners to professionals. We're trusted by many large companies, research departments, educational facilities, professionals and hobbyists as their go-to supplier for prototyping electronics hardware.
What can I build with your products?
The possibilities are endless! Things like autonomous robots, home automation systems, fish tank controllers, sprinkler timers, energy monitors, wireless sensor networks come to mind, but that's just a few! Every single day, people from all over the world publish hundreds of cool projects and most include build guides, materials you'll need and in most cases even code that you can upload to your microcontroller to get started without having to know how to code.
I'm a beginner to all of this, where do I start?
Great news, you don't have to be a university graduate to use our products! We have a variety of kits and books to get you started. Contact our sales team to assist you.
Do I need to register on your website?
You don't need to register if you just want to browse our website, but you will if you would like to purchase from our store. To create an account with us is easy, simply add products to your cart and check out. You will be prompted along the way with clear instructions on how to create an account if you haven't already done so. Once you've registered with us, all you need in future is your username and password to log in and you'll have access to all of your previous orders and invoices and account settings.
How do I buy something?
To find a product, you can either browse our categories on the left hand panel of our website, or use our search bar on the top right. Start typing what you're looking for and it will suggest products for you based on your search. Once you're on a product's page, click the add to cart button and it will add the item to your cart (which can be found by clicking on the shopping cart icon on the top right). You can carry on browsing, adding products and when you're ready you can begin the checkout process by clicking on your cart. If you're happy with the summary of your cart, proceed by clicking "next" and logging in, if you haven't already. First time buyers will be required to register an account with us at this stage. You'll need to carefully fill out a delivery address and contact details. These details are super important, our couriers will need this information to be correct to ensure delivery. You can add multiple addresses for your work or home and select from your addresses per order. After you've clicked "next" you'll be able to choose a delivery option and the relevant price will be displayed. If your order total reaches our free delivery threshold, delivery will be on us! The last step is payment, where you can choose from our available payment options. Once we've received payment, your order will be confirmed and you'll get email updates regarding it's status. You are also more than welcome to visit our physical store to browse and purchase in-store.
Is it safe to shop with you?
Your details are safe with us, take a look at our privacy policy if you'd like to see what information we gather from you. We don't sell or give your details to any third party companies or organisations for any reason whatsoever. No credit card details are recorded by our website and our payment page is secure. You'll see a green lock icon in your browser and the url will read "https" instead of "http", which indicates that your information is encrypted and safe.
What happens if an item is out of stock?
We do our best to keep stock of all the products on our website, but sometimes we suddenly sell out of items before new stock arrives. Each product has an advised delivery time if it is out of stock and you are able to "back order" it if you like. If you have a few items in your cart and one of them is backordered, you will have the option of doing a partial shipment and all in stock items will be dispatched. There is an additional charge for this, since we will be delivering twice.
What do I do if I forgot my password?
Don't stress, these days we all have so many accounts with different websites that it can be tricky to remember all of the usernames and passwords! If you happen to forget it, you can reset your password by going to our login screen and selecting the "Forgot your password?" link. You'll be sent a verification email, ensuring that it is in fact you that requested the password reset and once you have confirmed this by clicking the link in the e-mail, you'll be given a temporary password that will allow you to get into your account and make a new password.
My personal details have changed. How do I update this on my account?
If you'd like to change anything like your personal details, contact details or addresses, simply log in to our website and change the necessary details under "my account".
How do I sign up for your newsletter?
If you decided not to sign up for our newsletter when you registered, or if you don't yet have an account with us and would still like to receive the newsletter, you can easily sign up by looking at the bottom of our website.
Can I follow you on social media?
Please do! We have accounts with the usual social media platforms and would love it if you decide to follow us. This is a great way to see product updates and news, as well as getting info on sales and competitions. You can find the links on our contact page or at the bottom of our website.

Shipping & Delivery

How do you deliver orders?
Our preferred and most cost effective option is delivery right to your door. This could be to your home or to your work, whichever is more convenient for you. It's cheaper and you don't have to drive anywhere or wait in long queues. You'll see these options when you checkout your order.
What are the costs involved?
It depends where you stay. Central areas are cheaper to send to than outlying areas. The prices start from R120 for an overnight delivery to door in a central area and will increase to R125 if you are in an outlying area. When checking out, it is important to input the correct details so that the correct rate can be determined.
How long will it take?
We try to dispatch paid orders as fast as possible. Sometimes funds can take up to a day to clear, so we reserve the right to wait until it's cleared before we send your goods. Once dispatched, delivery can take up to 2 business days, but most orders will be delivered on the next business day after they are dispatched. Outlying areas generally take an extra day or two, depending on where it is going to. Although the above lead times are based on normal circumstances, please be advised that things like traffic, strikes, road accidents and weather can delay delivery times.
How do I check the status of an order?
To see an order's status, you can log in to your account and check the order status under "My Orders". We will also send you an email when the status of an order changes. Once orders are dispatched, we will send you a tracking number that you can use to track your package online.


What are my payment options?
You can pay us by EFT, Zapper, Credit Card, Debit Card and cash (if you are collecting). Please note that if you are using a debit card, only certain cards will work and the card needs to have raised numbers and a CVV number on the back of the card.
What is the process when paying by EFT?
If you choose to pay be EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer), then you will receive an email with our banking details and a reference number that must be used for the payment. It is important that the correct reference is used when making the payment, as this is what we use to track payments. Please do not use your name, our company name, previous invoice or order numbers as this will just delay your shipping.
How do I pay for an order outside of South Africa?
If you are purchasing from outside of South Africa's borders, you will be able to pay by wire transfer. The details for the transfer will be shown to you during check out.

Customer Service

Can I exchange a product that I've purchased?
If you've purchased something and you suspect that it's faulty, please see our Returns Process and our Returns Policy for more information. If you've ordered something incorrectly, you have 7 days in which to return the product to us, unused and in its original packaging. We will then issue you with a credit or refund, less any costs incurred by us to issue the return.
Do your products carry a warranty?
All of our products carry a 6 month warranty on manufacturing only. We do not warrant goods that were mishandled or used improperly. Please refer to our Returns Process and our Returns Policy.
