The TEC1-12706 Thermoelectric Cooler is a versatile Peltier module that can be used for both cooling and heating applications. By creating a temperature differential between its two sides, it can chill or warm objects depending on how you wire it. With no moving parts, this solid-state device is quiet, reliable, and perfect for electronics cooling, scientific projects, custom mini-fridges, or even DIY drink warmers/coolers.
When powered, the cold side cools rapidly while the hot side heats up just as quickly. To ensure efficiency and prevent damage, the hot side must be mounted to a proper heat sink or cooling block. A simple CPU heatsink or computer power supply setup can make the cold side drop so low that it becomes uncomfortable to touch.
