The Mercury switch can place and solder on PCB board, when the board is place horizontally the mercury in the switch keep the circuit connected, and when you tilt it the connection will disconnect.
When both electrodes are touched simultaneously by the mercury the switch is closed.
Can be used under extreme condition as the switch is sealed in glass isolating the mercury from external sources so can be used in oil, steam, dust and corrosive gas situations.
